The Association of Prosecuting Attorneys (APA), in partnership with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) and the Center for Court Innovation, will host the Innovations in Criminal Justice Summit III in Los Angeles, California on April 20-21, 2015.
Polis Solutions, Inc. was founded in 2014 by the creators of a $40M Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) effort to develop innovative methods and technologies for training social interaction and trust-‐building skills. We are a training, consulting and research firm that specializes in creating evidence-‐based programs that build public trust and safer communities.
This free, intensive two‐day workshop is designed to support chiefs, sheriffs and other police executives in the development, utilization and enhancement of crime and public safety analysis intended to drive departmental operations. Each participating agency is asked to attend as an agency team including executive/commander, supervisor, and analyst representatives (if applicable). The training is intended to build capacity and improve communication among ranks and disciplines, specific to the creation and effective use of actionable analysis.
The supervisor's role is critical during an active threat. He/She is not only responsible for everyone's safety, but also for setting up a command center, coordinating with EMS, and the Fire Units that arrive on scene. Further, the supervisor has to make decisions such as sending in more contact teams or rescue teams. This webinar will provide attendees with an overview of how first responders can be trained so that the supervisor will know what the first responders under their command will be doing.
