Event Description:
Jim Bueerman, President of the Police Foundation and former chief of the Redlands, CA, police department, and Dr. David Hawkins, founding director of the University of Washington’s Social Development Research Group, will describe the Communities That Care (CTC) prevention system and its community-wide effects on youth crime, violence, and drug use as well as on improving police-community relations. This webinar will provide participants with a model for enhancing community trust in law enforcement through the use of CTC and will help participants understand how policing organizations can adopt an organizational focus on "controlling crime before it happens" by reducing risk factors and increasing protective factors.
