On January 31, newly sworn-in White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) Director Jim Carroll released the Administration’s National Drug Control Strategy, which outlines President Donald Trump’s priorities for addressing the challenges of drug trafficking and substance abuse, especially as related to the nationwide opioid epidemic.

The National Reentry Resource Center (NRRC) recently released the fact sheet “Best Practices for Successful Reentry for People Who Have Opioid Addictions,” which contains 10 recommendations to help people with opioid addictions obtain pre- and post-release treatment, as well as informed supervision, during the reentry process.
