Join the Justice Clearinghouse, in partnership with the International Association of Law Enforcement Planners, for the Women in Law Enforcement webinar series. During this four-part series, expert researchers and practitioners will discuss the experiences of women in the field of policing, as well as identify opportunities, challenges, and research gaps affecting the successful inclusion of women in U.S. law enforcement.

The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) has extended the application period for strategic planning training and technical assistance (TTA) services through its Sixth Amendment Initiative. The Center for Court Innovation (CCI) is offering strategic planning TTA and will provide onsite and remote assistance to create research- and practice-based action plans that sites will undertake with support from CCI over the course of several years.

Join the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) for the online seminar, “Law Enforcement Stress and Trauma,” on Friday, June 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. ET. This seminar will cover the current research evidence and practical outcomes associated with implementing stress-management interventions to safeguard police officers’ mental health when they encounter stressful incidents.

On June 3, 2019, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) announced the addition of 10 counties and cities as National Public Safety Partnership (PSP) sites in continuation of the department’s commitment to reducing violent crime nationwide. PSP provides a framework for federal assistance to state, local, and tribal law enforcement officials and prosecutors in combating violent crime, especially gun crime, drug trafficking, and gang violence.

The Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service in Policing recognizes individual state, local, or tribal law enforcement officers for their exceptional efforts in effective policing. Eligible candidates are sworn rank-and-file police officers, deputies, and troopers in nonsupervisory positions that have exemplified policing and problem-solving principles in one of three areas:
