Join the Bureau of Justice Assistance’s (BJA) Comprehensive Opioid Abuse Program (COAP) for the “COAP Rural Responses to the Opioid Epidemic Solicitation Webinar” on Wednesday, June 26 at 2:30 p.m. ET. During the webinar, participants will learn about the Rural Responses to the Opioid Epidemic Grant solicitation, sponsored by BJA in coordination with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the State Justice Institute (SJI).
The Rural Responses to the Opioid Epidemic Grant leverages the combined resources and expertise of the CDC, SJI, BJA, and other federal partners to reduce morbidity and mortality associated with opioid overdoses among justice-involved individuals in rural communities. This grant is part of a series of demonstration projects funded under COAP, designed to build local capacity, foster collaboration, and support innovation. Under this solicitation, BJA will select up to 8 rural communities or regions for grant awards up to $750,000 over a 24-month period to plan and implement activities that prevent and reduce overdose deaths associated with opioids, including fentanyl, and advance a shared understanding of illicit opioid use in the community.
Applications for this funding opportunity are due by 5:00 p.m. ET on July 26, 2019. Access the complete funding details to learn more about eligibility, application requirements, and program-specific information.
