    Intellectual Property Crime Investigation Training (Jan 2013)

    As a response to the serious threat of Intellectual Property (IP) crime, NW3C and the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) are providing training to state and local law enforcement in the area of IP crime.

    This one-day training is intended for investigators and prosecutors. The course uses a mix of lecture, discussion, and interactive exercises.

    Cyber-Investigation 101 STOP

    This two-day course is intended for probation and parole, detectives, and officers conducting "knock and talk" interviews or spot checks and home visits. This class utilizes a Linux-based bootable CD to preview a suspect computer system for potential evidence in a forensically sound manner. The CD is based on the Linux operating system and has the advantage of being able to read other computer system's files without writing to or altering the data on those systems.

    Cyber-Investigation 100: Identifying and Seizing Electronic Evidence

    This six-hour course provides law enforcement professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to an electronic crime scene and to safely and methodically collect and preserve items of evidentiary value that may be used in court proceedings.

    At the end of instruction students will be able to:

    • Recognize various types of electronic media and hardware used for storing electronic data. Items include computers, thumb drives, media cards, PDAs, etc.

    ASCA Special Issues Seminar and All Directors Training

    The 2012 Special Issues Seminar and All Directors Training will be held at the National Institute of Corrections Training Academy in Aurora, CO on October 25, 26 and 27, 2012. Accommodations will be at the Denver Airport Marriott Hotel beginning Wednesday evening, October 24 for those attending the Special Issues Seminar, and departing Sunday, October 28.
