In 2015, the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) is launching the Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI) and the SAKI National Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Program to support jurisdictions across the country as they address the issue of untested sexual assault kits (SAKs) in their possession and engage in comprehensive sexual assault response reform. The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) National Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI) is a competitive grant program that will provide funding to state, local, and tribal law enforcement agencies, prosecutor’s offices, or a governmental non-law enforcement agency acting as fiscal agent for the applicant to inventory, track, and test previously unsubmitted SAKs (excluding SAKs that have already been submitted to the crime laboratory).
The supervisor's role is critical during an active threat. He/She is not only responsible for everyone's safety, but also for setting up a command center, coordinating with EMS, and the Fire Units that arrive on scene. Further, the supervisor has to make decisions such as sending in more contact teams or rescue teams. This webinar will provide attendees with an overview of how first responders can be trained so that the supervisor will know what the first responders under their command will be doing.
