AHP Webinar - Medication Assisted Treatment & Reentry

This webinar, presented by Advocates for Human Potential, Inc., will describe the concept of medication assisted treatment (MAT) and its effectiveness when combined with counseling, behavioral therapies, and aftercare. Attendees will learn about the most effective medications currently available and how MAT is being utilized at one residential substance abuse treatment (RSAT) program. After completing this webinar, participants will be able to:

• List the three FDA approved medications for opioid use disorder and the three for alcohol use disorder.
• Identify the proven benefit of MAT as a supplement to other treatment modalities as well as specific challenge and risk posed by each medication.
• Learn the three basic components of a correctional MAT program for re-entering inmates, including linkage to community aftercare.
