Hosted by the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), this webinar will provide details and guidance for potential applicants to BJA’s Emmett Till Cold Case Investigations and Training and Technical Assistance Program solicitation. This program supports efforts of state, local and tribal law enforcement and prosecutors and their partner to investigate, prosecute and resolve and support those impacted by unsolved homicides involving civil rights violations that occurred prior to December 31, 1979. This year, BJA added a category for national training and technical assistance. The presenters will discuss the purpose and goals of this funding opportunity; review eligibility requirements, categories, purpose areas, and deliverables; and address frequently asked questions. Special emphasis will be given to the two purpose areas:
- Category 1: Site Based
- Category 2: Training and Technical Assistance
Audience includes cold case homicide investigators, detectives and prosecutors; tribal Missing and Murdered task forces; and state and local criminal justice agencies working with civil rights reconciliation commissions, historical societies and Attorneys General.
A Q&A session will conclude this webinar.
