The event serves as an opportunity for COSSUP grantees to further the goals of the Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Use Program to support effective local, state, and tribal responses to illicit substance use in order to reduce overdose deaths, promote public safety, and support access to treatment and recovery services in the criminal justice system.

Founding States
In December, staff from the CSG Justice Center continued recruitment and onboarding efforts. CSG Justice Center staff and staff from Recidiviz conducted user experience conversations with representatives from corrections departments in several states including Illinois, Iowa, Massachusetts, Montana, and New Hampshire to get feedback on the Publisher dashboards being built for corrections departments. The team also continued conversations with vendors including SecurManage and StepMobile.

In November, staff from the CSG Justice Center continued recruitment and onboarding efforts. CSG Justice Center staff continued implementing the strategy to develop partnerships with vendors including SecurManage, StepMobile, and CorrectTech through continued conversations with the vendors as well as their customers to understand the steps necessary to build these relationships and develop an opt-in form specific to vendors.

Justice Counts Partners?
In October, CSG Justice Center staff continued partner engagement to develop contract deliverables, gain insights about agency recruitment and engagement, and plan for an upcoming partner summit. CSG Justice Center staff worked internally and with partner staff to develop new deliverables to be included in amended contracts for work to be done in 2024.?

During this reporting period, CNA, Saxman One, and IIR received approval from DOJ to proceed with hosting the joint BJA Violent Crime Reduction Summit that was held on December 11—13, in Indianapolis, Indiana. More than 900 participants attended the 2 ½ day conference, which was comprised of multiple plenary sessions as well as more than 29 breakout sessions for both PSP and PSN sites.
