Founding States
In November, staff from the CSG Justice Center continued recruitment and onboarding efforts. CSG Justice Center staff continued implementing the strategy to develop partnerships with vendors including SecurManage, StepMobile, and CorrectTech through continued conversations with the vendors as well as their customers to understand the steps necessary to build these relationships and develop an opt-in form specific to vendors.
CSG Justice Center staff also continued recruiting in new states, including meetings in California with the Oakland Police Department and the Tenon Collaborative;
Florida with the Hillsborough County State?s Attorney?s Office;
Massachusetts with the Massachusetts Office of Community Courts;
Pennsylvania with the Western Pennsylvania Regional Data Center, the County Commissioners Association, the Dauphin County Criminal Justice Advisory Board, and the Pennsylvania Commission on Sentencing;
Tennessee with the Davidson County Sheriff?s Office; and
Utah with the Utah Association of Counties, the Salt Lake County District Attorney?s Office, the Utah Department of Corrections, the Utah Law Enforcement Legislative Committee, Salt Lake County Sheriff?s Office, and the Utah Prosecution Council.
Several agencies opted in to Justice Counts in November including the Springfield, MA, Police Department; the Dauphin County, PA, District Attorney?s Office; and the Thurston County, WA, Board of County Commissioners. Thurston County was also approved as a founding site. In Louisiana, the East Baton Rouge Criminal Justice Coordinating Council opted in, and East Baton Rouge was approved as a founding site. CSG Justice Center staff also completed onboarding sessions with the Massachusetts Department of Corrections, the Springfield Police Department, the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, and the Puerto Rico Department of Corrections. CSG Justice Center staff also promoted the project in a meeting with G.A.R.E., Government Alliance on Race & Equity, where they provided a Justice Counts overview and identified ways to collaborate.
In Iowa, CSG Justice Center staff met with several stakeholders including the chief jail inspector to discuss engagement with sheriffs and available jails data; the Polk County Criminal Justice Coordinating Council to discuss engagement in Polk County; and the Davenport Police Department to provide a project update. Additionally, the Department of Management/Performance Results Office opted in to Justice Counts.
In Indiana, CSG Justice Center staff were on site to present to the Indiana Association of Community Corrections Act Counties and the statewide Indiana Justice Reinvestment Advisory Council and met with the Hancock County Attorney?s Office to provide a project overview.

In Missouri, CSG Justice Center staff met with the Christian County Attorney?s Office, the Missouri State Public Defender?s Office, the Kansas City Mayor?s Office, and St. Charles County Department of Corrections. CSG Justice Center staff also met with the University of Central Missouri Police Department, who opted in to Justice Counts, and conducted an onboarding session with the Pulaski County prosecuting attorney.

In Montana, CSG Justice Center staff were on site and met with the Missoula county attorney, the Missoula Community Justice Department, the Missoula County CJCC chair, the Montana public defender, the Montana State Legislative Police Division, Montana Senator Ryan Lynch, Lewis & Clark County Office of Criminal Justice Services, Lewis & Clark County CJCC, Lewis & Clark County Sheriff?s Office, and the Montana Department of Corrections. From those meetings, the Lewis & Clark County Sheriff?s Office, the Lewis & Clark First District Court, and the Montana Office of the State Public Defender all opted in to Justice Counts. Later in the month, CSG Justice Center staff conducted an onboarding session with Lewis & Clark County Department of Criminal Justice Services.

In Ohio, CSG Justice Center staff met with Volunteers of Ohio & Indiana and Oriana House and conducted onboarding and technical assistance sessions with STAR Community Justice Center, Franklin County Municipal Court Clerk?s Office, Franklin County Municipal Court Probation Department, and the Eastern Ohio Corrections Center.
Implementation Grant States
In Arizona, CSG Justice Center staff received an invitation to present to the Coconino County CJCC in January and are planning a site visit to Coconino and Pinal Counties around that presentation. CSG Justice Center staff also conducted onboarding sessions with Pima County Attorney?s Office and Pima County Defense Services.
In North Carolina, CSG Justice Center staff worked with the North Carolina Criminal Justice Analysis Center to create agency pitch language and a slide deck to present during agency outreach.
In Oregon, CSG Justice Center staff presented to law enforcement personnel from across the state at a meeting for the Statistical Transparency of Policing project. CSG Justice Center staff also worked with staff from the Oregon Criminal Justice Commission to plan for future outreach and data entry.
In Wisconsin, CSG Justice Center staff worked with staff from the Wisconsin Department of Justice to pilot entering some of their public data into Publisher and also worked to refine the planning and implementation guide, as well as quarterly plans.
Metrics
In November, six of the seven subcommittees received the notes from their meetings, and the Judicial Focus Group also received a report detailing the work of the Courts and Pretrial subcommittee for their consideration.
Partners
In November, the American Probation and Parole Association accepted a Justice Counts proposal for a February conference. CSG Justice Center staff also presented at the National Legal Aid & Defender?s Association annual conference.
