Join the Bureau of Justice Assistance’s Comprehensive Opioid Abuse Program (COAP) team for the webinar “First Responder Burnout Prevention” on Thursday, October 11 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. ET. During this webinar, participants will gain insight into factors that attribute to first responder burnout, with special consideration given to stresses coming from responses to the opioid epidemic.

Next Wednesday, October 3, the Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) will collaborate with the Hawthorne, California Police Department (PD) and law enforcement agencies nationwide to recognize the third annual National Coffee with a Cop Day. The mission of National Coffee with a Cop Day is to reduce barriers between police and the public and to increase public safety.

National Fallen Firefighters Foundation

The United States Congress created the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation to lead a nationwide effort to remember America’s fallen firefighters. Since 1992, the tax-exempt, nonprofit foundation has developed and expanded programs to honor our fallen fire heroes and assist their families and coworkers and work within the fire service community to reduce firefighter deaths and injuries

The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) National Training and Technical Assistance Center (NTTAC) has developed a new resource for BJA TTA providers, “How to Post a Webinar Recording: A BJA NTTAC Tip Sheet.” This resource provides guidance and best practices on how to capture and post a WebEx recording after a virtual meeting, presentation, or training.

Criminal Justice Technology Forecasting Group Meeting #4

RAND plans to conduct the fourth in-person meeting of the Criminal Justice Technology Forecasting Group. This meeting will focus on addressing the top two topics for follow-on research from prior CJTFG meetings: identifying the most promising emerging technologies for sharing and using information, and determining top business cases for sharing information across the criminal justice enterprise.
