The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) recently released its State and Territory Fact Sheets for fiscal year (FY) 2014. The fact sheets are updated annually and summarize funding provided by BJA during FY 2014 across all jurisdictions in a particular state or territory. Additionally, the fact sheets provide state- or territory-specific statistics on justice personnel and crime/arrest data during the fiscal year.

The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) Body-Worn Camera (BWC) Toolkit was developed to assist law enforcement agencies implement body-worn camera programs using the best research and guidance available from both criminal justice and community stakeholders. The BWC Toolkit has been updated to include simpler navigation, making it faster and easier to access specific information on body-worn camera technology and implementation strategies. The National Institute of Justice (NIJ) has recently updated its Crime Mapping and Analysis Program Training Course materials. Specific changes include updates to the course materials for the introductory- and intermediate-level course “Crime Mapping and Analysis Using ArcGIS 10.1.” The new materials were designed to offer a combination of structured, step-by-step lessons, followed by an unstructured period in which students can practice the concepts with their own data.

The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Excellence in Law Enforcement Research Award recognizes law enforcement agencies that demonstrate excellence in conducting and using research to improve police operations and public safety.
