The National Institute of Justice (NIJ) has recently updated its Crime Mapping and Analysis Program Training Course materials. Specific changes include updates to the course materials for the introductory- and intermediate-level course “Crime Mapping and Analysis Using ArcGIS 10.1.” The new materials were designed to offer a combination of structured, step-by-step lessons, followed by an unstructured period in which students can practice the concepts with their own data.
NIJ does not offer the courses associated with the materials; however, the materials provided can be used by any agency wishing to offer training on crime mapping or by individuals interested in learning on their own. Course materials include an instructor’s guidebook and presentation, a student workbook, exercises and solutions, and sample data.
