Women's Leadership Intitute (WLI) Critical Incident Management

Sunday Jun 12, 2016 - 12:00am EDT to Wednesday Jun 15, 2016 - 12:00pm EDT
Event Description:

This course is designed to help supervisors and commanders prepare for critical incidents by increasing their knowledge of: related training issues, key leadership principles and legal concepts, deployment of small teams, and incident management prior to the arrival of specialized resources.  Successful critical incident management requires the ability to apply critical thinking in a timely manner, while making safe and effective decisions in highly stressful and rapidly evolving operational environments. Table top incidents and practical exercises will be used to reinforce the curriculum objectives, which will focus on the management of active shooter situations.

The Institute will kick-off with registration, a welcome reception, and introductions on Sunday evening at the Fort Hood Officer’s Club.

The Institute will run Monday - Wednesday beginning at 8:00 a.m. until between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., depending on the activities of the day. Wednesday morning will include a live active shooter simulation, regardless of weather. Equipment and safety googles will be provided to participants.
