Join the Association of Prosecuting Attorneys for their webinar “Prosecuting a Hate Crime: Collaborative Efforts of State and Federal Prosecutors” on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 3:00–4:00 p.m. ET. This webinar will be presented by Jefferson County Commonwealth’s Attorney Tom Wine and Assistant Commonwealth Attorney Milja Zgonjanin, Department of Justice Special Litigation Counsel Christopher J. Perras, and Former US Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky, Russell Coleman. The presenters will discuss lessons learned from their prosecution of the Jeffersontown Kroger racially motivated shooting in state and federal court as well as how the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and the Department of Justice collaborated on the case to provide a blueprint for those prosecuting similar cases. There will be a question and answer session at the end of the presentation.
