On Wednesday, September 6, 2017 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. ET, the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), in collaboration with the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), will host the webinar, “Innovative Law Enforcement Resources for Investigating Child Sex Trafficking.”
This presentation will highlight innovative tools and effective response strategies for law enforcement to utilize while working with victims of child sex trafficking. Attendees will be introduced to free analytical resources provided by the Child Sex Trafficking Team (CSTT) at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), who process hundreds of online advertisements a month and provide analytical support to law enforcement nationwide. At law enforcement’s request, CSTT can provide comprehensive analytical reports regarding possible child victims and their traffickers to provide technical assistance and support to child sex trafficking investigations.
Attendees will be better able to:
- Discuss tips to effectively identify child sex trafficking victims;
- Implement strategies to remove barriers in identifying child sex trafficking victims;
- Improve communication and response techniques with child sex trafficking victims;
- Utilize law enforcement resources and services available through NCMEC to enhance investigations; and
- Establish collaborative efforts for NCMEC on child sex trafficking investigations.
