This webinar will provide an overview of the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) National Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI) Fiscal Year (FY) 2017 Solicitation for prospective applicants. For the FY 2017 solicitation, eligible applicants are limited to state law enforcement agencies, units of local government, federally recognized American Indian tribal governments, prosecutor’s offices, or governmental non-law enforcement agencies acting as fiscal agents for one of the other listed eligible applicants. Additionally, this solicitation has three Purpose Areas:
- Purpose Area 1: Comprehensive Approach to Unsubmitted Sexual Assault Kits.
- Purpose Area 2: SAKI for Small Agencies (eligibility is limited to small law enforcement agencies with less than 250 sworn officers or to consortia of small agencies).
- Purpose Area 3: Collection of Lawfully Owned DNA from Convicted Offenders to Assist with Sexual Assault Investigations and Prosecutions.
