Enhancing Tribal and State Collaborations to Build Sustainable Public Safety Partnerships

Event Description: 

This course is designed to be a proactive, comprehensive, training experience that fosters collaboration among tribal, state, federal, and local governments. The class will train and equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify existing tribal justice challenges for the purpose of strengthening partnerships to more effectively implement criminal justice initiatives in their organizations. Participants will identify and use their own unique challenges and share their experiences in the context of an agency’s collaboration and problem solving approach in implementing and administering criminal justice initiatives for their tribe. The training will build upon problem solving strategies and also include core strategies or themes for developing, team building, increasing coordination and communication among federal, state, tribal and local governmental agencies. The materials presented in this course will integrate and respect rich tribal community values while initiating collaborative partnership efforts.
