    Leave No Victim Behind IV National Training Conference

    The University of Oregon, Oregon Police Department and the California Victim Compensation Board are pleased to announce the Leave No Victim Behind IV national training conference for 2019. The conference will take place on October 21 – 23, 2019 at the Conference Center of Las Vegas. The Leave No Victim Behind conference series will continue its focus on best practices for responding to mass violence and unique partnerships between law enforcement and victim services to assist victims of crime.

    National Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect

    The Association of Prosecuting Attorneys’ Child Abuse Prosecution Project will present a National Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect in Salt Lake City, Utah.

    This three-day, tuition-free conference will feature nationally known speakers and will showcase cutting-edge workshops for child abuse prosecutors and their multidisciplinary teams. This conference is co-sponsored by the Salt Lake County, Utah District Attorney’s Office, the Western Regional Children’s Advocacy Center, and the National Children’s Advocacy Center.

    International Association of Chiefs of Police 2019 Annual Conference and Exposition

    The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Annual Conference and Exposition is the largest and most important law enforcement event of the year — more than 16,000 public safety professionals come to learn new techniques, advance their knowledge and careers, and equip their department for ongoing success. The three tenets of the conference are training, networking, and exhibit hall education. IACP 2019 spans four days of education and networking.

    National Opioid and Emerging Drug Threats Policy & Practice Forum: Strengthening Forensic Response and Informing Public Safety and Health

    The Forensic Technology Center of Excellence (FTCoE) will assist the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) in hosting the National Opioid and Emerging Drug Threats Policy and Practice Forum on July 18 – 19, 2019 in Washington, D.C. The forum will take place at the Marriott Metro Center.

    Saginaw Chippewa Regional HTWC Refresher Feb. 2019

    The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe of Michigan requested a refresher training for their team members regarding the Training Key Components and opioid-related topics such as MAT and substance-exposed newborns. Upon expressions of interest from neighboring tribes, including the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Indians, the Bay Mills Indian Community, the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community, and the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, the training was expanded to a regional training to serve the northern Michigan-region of tribes.
