The New Rochelle Police Department requests the Polis Solutions two-day (16 hour) Tactical Human Dynamics course to improve officers’ skills in social interactions and community trust-building. The Tactical Human Dynamics course is the only police training program that simultaneously addresses the perceptual, cognitive, and behavioral dimensions of social interaction. On behalf of our Tompkins County Legislature we are requesting (1) an external technical review of law enforcement’s response to a local incident, (2) a report and briefing on “lessons learned” from the technical review based on best practice with recommendations for improvement, and (3) assistance in rebuilding community trust.

BJA will identify a provider to facilitate JRI peer-to-peer technical assistance events. Similar events were held in February 2015 to share ideas, resources, and tools from sites involved in JRI efforts. This TA will expand those events to more sites involved in JRI activity.

I am the Planning Coordinator for 2014 Bryne Justice Assistance Grant to design a Wellness/Mental Health Court for the Aurora Municipal Criminal Courts. Part of our grant has dollars set aside to do a intercept mapping for the gaps in our delivery system. I have looked locally for a moderator and have been unsuccessful. I reached out to our state JAG for assistance and they referred me to you.

The University of Delaware Police Department (UDPD) embraces the mission of providing quality law enforcement education to our regional law enforcement partners in the Middle-Atlantic region. This Training and Technical Assistance request continues UDPD Chief Patrick Ogden's history of identifying excellent contemporary law enforcement training by bringing Blue Courage training to our campus for state, municipal and local law enforcement officers.

Arkansas Community Correction (ACC) is requesting technical assistance through BJA to assist with revising the current Medicaid and private option policy regarding physician referrals for mental health services. Preliminary research has been done by ACC through analyzing other states’ Medicaid policies. Currently, individuals receiving Medicaid must obtain a referral from a Primary Care Physician (PCP) before accessing mental health or substance abuse services in the community.
