The New Rochelle Police Department requests the Polis Solutions two-day (16 hour) Tactical Human Dynamics course to improve officers’ skills in social interactions and community trust-building. The Tactical Human Dynamics course is the only police training program that simultaneously addresses the perceptual, cognitive, and behavioral dimensions of social interaction. It integrates the latest scientific research on managing social encounters with validated training techniques. The training will consist of
two x 8 hour days and will enroll up to 35 participants. Participants will mainly consist of patrol officers, sergeants, and detectives from the NRPD, as well as from neighboring agencies.
Learning objectives for the Tactical Human Dynamics course are to:
• Enhance officers’ perceptual, cognitive, and behavioral capacities to create positive outcomes in their
police interactions with the community.
• Improve officers’ ability to build rapport and trust with citizens in diverse social and cultural contexts
under stressful and dangerous conditions.
• Increase officers’ ability to anticipate and rapidly address sources of conflict, danger, mistrust, and error
in social encounters.
• Increase officers’ skills at each stage of the social engagement cycle.

- The organizational and/or community needs specific to the request for TTA services.
- The benefits or anticipated outcomes from the receipt of TTA services.
