A two-day event for National PREA Resource Center (PRC) TA Providers to receive training on the provision of field-initiated training and technical assistance
consistent with the PRC’s goals to assist the correctional facilities with PREA
implementation efforts.
The Field Training Auditors (FTAs) for the Field Training Program (FTP) have varying levels of experience with auditing, leading training audits, and working with an audit team. To help maintain consistency between FTAs, and consequentially between training audits, the PRC is holding an FTA Orientation and Refresher for the 6 newly-selected FTAs.
The National PREA Resource Center's (PRC) Field Training Program (FTP) offers direct field auditing experience in a supervised and supported environment for certified Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) auditors who feel they could benefit from practicing and applying the information they learned during auditor training in an actual audit. The goal is to strengthen auditors' PREA auditing skills, understanding of the standards, and experience with the PREA auditing process and use of the audit instrument.
The PRC will complete phase one of an information database system which will include advanced ticket tracking functionality and the ability to keep detailed records of service delivery to the field and to auditors. The information will be accessible across all staff and across all activity areas to increase efficiencies and effective service.
Erie County is requesting the assistance of BJA NTTAC in mapping the Erie County reentry system using a sequential intercept model. We are further requesting assistance with planning and implementing recommended changes that derive from the mapping.

The PRC will organize and execute an auditor training to train qualified individuals to become certified as DOJ PREA Auditors. The PRC secures a location, develops training materials, invites and coordinates partner faculty to assist in training, and coordinates lodging for all attendees. The PRC invites 50 qualified individuals to attend training. Individuals apply and provide information regarding their qualifications.
The PRC coordinates and produces trainings to train qualified individuals to become certified as DOJ PREA Auditors. The PRC secures a location, develops training materials, invites and coordinates partner faculty to assist in training, and coordinates lodging for all attendees. The PRC invites 75-100 qualified individuals to attend training. Individuals apply and provide information regarding their qualifications. When the PRC receives and application, designated staff members review and either approve their qualifications and recommend them for invitation or deem them unqualified.
