The Chicago, Illinois Police Department requests funding for 100 officers to access FranklinCovey's All Access Pass, which would allow participants to gain access to FranklinCovey training content, including Policing at the Speed of Trust, Leading at the Speed of Trust, and 7 Habits of Highly Effective People for Law Enforcement.

We are requesting technical assistance with an assessment of our current crime analysis processes and capacity. We would like someone to examine our current tools for technology, data and staffing analysis. This would include evaluation of data we are producing for patrol, investigations and administration. We would like to receive recommendations for enhancements. The potential need for future training would be determined based on the initial assessment.

The Newark, New Jersey Police Department, as part of the Newark Public Safety Partnership (PSP) site, requested assistance in developing a use of force training curriculum that incorporates best practices and is in line with currently New Jersey and national laws. BJA NTTAC is working with the Newark PSP site to determine budget availability, this request will not be fulfilled by BJA NTTAC during the base year.

The University of Chicago Crime Lab requested travel support for participants to travel to and attend the second Early Intervention System (EIS) National Advisory Committee (NAC) meeting. BJA NTTAC provided travel support for 18 participants to attend the second EIS NAC meeting on August 24 – 25, 2017 in Chicago, Illinois.

The University of Chicago Crime Lab requested funding support for the Strategic Decision Support Centers Crimefighters Conference. BJA NTTAC provided funding for books and instructional videos in support of the conference, which took place on July 20, 2017 in Chicago, Illinois.

The Bureau of Justice Assistance requested travel support for representatives from the Public Safety Partnership (PSP) sites to attend the International Association of Crime Analysts (IACA) Annual Conference. BJA NTTAC will provide travel support to 30 representatives to attend the IACA Conference from September 10 – 15 2017 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
