The Chicago, Illinois Police Department (PD) requested that Justice and Security Strategies President, Dr. Craig Uchida, prepare and deliver a presentation at the Strategic Decision Support Centers Crimefighters Conference. Dr. Uchida delivered a presentation on the national perspective on violence reduction on July 20, 2017 in Chicago, Illinois.

The Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions requested the Blue Courage Academy. Blue Courage Inc. was selected to fulfill the request and provided the two-day Blue Courage: The Heart and Mind of the Guardian course and the two-day Blue Courage Train-the-Trainer to 22 representatives from law enforcement agencies across Maryland on July 31, 2017 - August 3, 2017, in Sykesville, Maryland.

The Reno, Nevada Police Department requested 30 Blue Courage: Heart and Mind of the Guardian participant kits. Blue Courage, Inc. was selected to fulfill the request and shipped 30 participant kits to Reno, Nevada in August 2017.

The New Orleans, Louisiana Police Department, as part of the New Orleans Violence Reduction Network (VRN) site, requested tuition and travel support for four crime analysts to attend the International Association of Crime Analysts Training Conference. BJA NTTAC will provide travel support for four analysts to attend the IACA Training Conference from September 11 – 15, 2017 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Detective Nicholas Rizzitello, from the Essex County, New Jersey Prosecutor's Office, requested information on upcoming Digital Imaging and Video Response Team (DIVRT) training classes. BJA NTTAC informed Detective Rizzitello that there are no upcoming DIVRT training classes, and provided contact information for the individual who previously organized the DIVRT training.

The Ferguson, Missouri Police Department (PD) requested travel support for two Ferguson PD officers to travel to and participate in the Kansas City, Missouri PD Blue Courage Academy. BJA NTTAC provided travel support for the two officers to attend the academy on June 6 - 9, 2017 in Kansas City, Missouri.

The Fort Lauderdale Police Department (PD) requested crime analysis technical assistance to improve its capacity to prevent and respond to juvenile crime within the City of Fort Lauderdale. CRH Crime Analysis Consulting, Inc. (CRH) was selected to fulfill the request having previously provided crime analysis technical assistance to the PD as part of another BJA NTTAC engagement. In May 2017, CRH developed a unique crime analysis algorithm to identify juveniles of enhanced risk for engaging in violent and/or property crimes.
