CSG Justice Center staff, in partnership with the Center for Juvenile Justice Reform (CJJR) and the National Youth & Screening Assessment Partners (NYSAP) conducted a site visit to Iowa as part of the Division of Criminal and Juvenile Justice Planning’s FY16 Smart on Juvenile Justice Statewide Planning grant to accomplish the following:
1. Ensure the core leadership team is clear on the Smart on JJ grant initiative and overall planning process, as well as expectations and priorities for the site visit and over the course of the grant.
The Monday Design Team call is a biweekly convening of project partners with Urban PFS evaluation experts to discuss the development of the transaction structuring phase of the Oklahoma Opportunity Youth PFS Project. The first introductory Evaluation Design Team call was held on April 3rd. Calls are scheduled to continue weekly until the project ends on September 30.
The Thursday Data Team call is the convening of all stakeholders that collect, manage, and report on data to inform the Oklahoma Opportunity Youth PFS Project. This weekly time is used to discuss evaluation needs and data analysis. The first Data Team call was held on April 13, and these calls are scheduled to occur weekly until the project end date on September 30th.
2nd Annual National SAKI Grantees Meeting
Grantee Meeting in Washington, DC with all partners. Meeting's function was to serve as a knowledge sharing event for registered stakeholders. Participants engaged in panels, break-out sessions and presentations.
RFK and CSG Justice Center staff participated in DYS's task force meeting to provide TTA around the next steps identified and key changes through the community supervision implementation process.
Provide TA to Tulsa and Oklahoma City sites.
CSG Justice Center staff met grantee at the National Mentoring Summit and discussed challenges with mentor recruitment, primarily from the DC area, and talked through some potential solutions.
This two-day train-the-trainer course provides resources and training to adults who serve tribal youth and desire to: increase the knowledge, skills, and capacity of tribal youth to identify the threats of human trafficking and identify resources that would strengthen protective factors and decrease the risk of victimization.
