CSG JC staff presented to the TN task force.
This will be the first of 5 meetings of the task force. The meeting discussion provided a brief history of how juvenile justice has been handled in Tennessee (operationally/state level/ local level/ courts/ etc.) for context. Senator Norris provided a national perspective - what other states are doing, how they are doing, results, etc, and trends in reform.?

CSG JC staff met with Policy Research Associates/NCMHJJ to reflect on the overall joint technical assistance experience and partnership, and identified some clear lessons learned through the support we received from PRA in being able to support grant recipients in improving behavioral health outcomes for youth in contact with the juvenile justice system.

CSG Justice Center staff participated in VA?DJJ's first ever reentry summit, in which state leaders will come together to review and be trained on the new policies and procedures developed through JSR. CSG Justice Center staff presented on the core principles.

Kathy Mitchell from OJJDP and CSG Justice Center staff visited DJJ?to provide a training on gender-responsivity for girls in the single female facility in the state, and I met with DJJ?senior leadership to discuss intersecting reforms, current challenges, and priorities moving forward. CSG Justice Center staff also participated in the quarterly reentry task force meeting.?
