Check Out the Interactive Magazine TechBeat, Featuring the BJA Law Enforcement Naloxone Toolkit

Through its monthly interactive newsmagazine, TechBeat, the National Institute of Justice’s National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Center (NLECTC) offers updates on technology and research efforts related to the public safety community. In April, TechBeat featured the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) Law Enforcement Naloxone Toolkit, an online clearinghouse of downloadable resources, guides, and other tools that law enforcement agencies can use to establish a naloxone program in their communities. These resources can help law enforcement and other first responders build skills to recognize the signs of overdose and respond appropriately – including administering naloxone – to save lives.

In addition to featuring the toolkit, NLECTC also highlighted the Arlington Outreach Initiative, a program in Arlington, Massachusetts, established to conduct community outreach that aims to prevent overdoses before they occur. To read more about the toolkit and best practices from the outreach initiative, access the magazine here.
