The webinar will describe the concept of medication assisted treatment (MAT) and its effectiveness when combined with counseling, behavioral therapies, and aftercare. Attendees will learn about the most effective medications currently available and how MAT is being utilized at one Residential Substance Abuse Treatment program.
The webinar will cover topics such as Food and Drug Administration approved medications for opioid use disorder and alcohol use disorder and the basic components of a correctional MAT program for reentering inmates, including linkage to community aftercare. Dr. Andrew Klein, who provides consulting and technical assistance to federal and local criminal justice agencies, will be the presenter.
