Each year, the Law Enforcement Congressional Badge of Bravery (CBOB) honors federal, state, and local law enforcement officers who have demonstrated exceptional acts of bravery while serving in the line of duty. These acts include either sustaining a physical injury or risking serious injury or death while engaged in lawful duties, which the nominating law enforcement agency head has characterized as an act of bravery.

The Office of Justice Programs (OJP) recently published the blog post “Promoting Justice for All,” authored by Acting Assistant Attorney General (AAG) Alan Hanson, on the importance of the right to counsel. The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) is seeking resumes from qualified experts to serve as peer reviewers to assess grant applications. Selected reviewers may evaluate grant applications remotely and will not be required to attend any in-person meetings. Before the review period begins, reviewers will participate in an Orientation Call that will define the background and purpose of the grant under review, as well as the roles and responsibilities for reviewers.
