APA’s Final Fridays Webinar: Smart Strategies to Prioritize Resources & Public Safety

Friday Mar 28, 2014 - 07:00pm to 08:00pm EDT
Event Description:

Please join us for March’s Final Fridays webinar, “Smart Strategies to Prioritize Resources & Public Safety: Prosecution Led Diversion & Deferred Prosecution Programs”, to be held on Friday, March 28th from 3:00-4:00 pm (EDT). Diverting or deferring prosecution of criminal offenders can be a smart strategy for prioritizing prosecution resources, improving public safety, and giving qualified candidates an important “second chance”. More and more prosecutors are developing a broader variety of such programs to fit the specialized needs of their offenders and their jurisdictions. Mark Kammerer, of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, and Jeffrey Altenburg, of the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office, join Robert Hood, Director of APA’s Community Prosecution & Violent Crime Division, for a presentation on and discussion about their office’s innovative and extensive use of such programming in managing their criminal caseloads. APA is seeking one credit of Continuing Legal Education credit from the State of Virginia for this webinar and can help attorney attendees qualify this webinar for CLE credit in their own jurisdictions.
