Judges who preside over guardianship cases are often required to make determinations of capacity and to decide whether to appoint a guardian to protect individuals who are unable to make decisions on their own behalf.
Developed for judges by judges in 22 states, the Guardianship Evaluation Worksheet is a 2-page fillable and printable PDF containing a checklist of relevant factors designed to aid in integrating information from multiple sources. The tool also helps judges weigh factors which can forewarn abuse in guardianships prior to appointment of a guardian. During this webinar, Dr. Bonnie Olsen will provide an overview of the tool, how judges can use it, and how the Worksheet is being evaluated. Time will be allotted for questions.
