The CSG Justice Center - Building Successful Criminal Justice and Mental Health Partnerships

Thursday Sep 17, 2015 - 01:30pm to 03:00pm EDT
Event Description:

Building Successful Criminal Justice and Mental Health Partnerships

Hosted by The Council of State Governments Justice Center with funding support from the U.S. Department of Justice's Bureau of Justice Assistance

Mental health and criminal justice agencies often respond to the same populations, but don’t always understand each other’s goals and responsibilities and, as a consequence, struggle to build collaborative partnerships.

During this live stream training, panelists will discuss principles of collaborative partnerships, and the importance of those partnerships for program success. The session will identify common challenges to creating effective collaborative partnerships, in addition to providing practical guidance for building effective and sustainable relationships among agencies and service providers.

This training will be especially beneficial to members of law enforcement, mental health agencies, behavioral health service providers, community-based service providers, court professionals, probation and parole staff, reentry and transition planning staff, and others.
