Webinar - Helping Victims of Mass Violence & Terrorism: The First 24 to 48 Hours

This September, the Office for Victims of Crime Training and Technical Assistance Center will launch an important two-part webinar series that will highlight significant actions needed to help communities prepare and respond appropriately to assist victims in the first few days after a mass violence tragedy occurs. 

Overcoming Victim/Witness Intimidation: Innovative Prosecutor Tools and Techniques

The ability to gain victim/witness cooperation for a successful prosecution, despite intimidation, is a significant challenge faced by prosecutors across the country. Webinar speaker John Delaney, former First Assistant District Attorney of the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania District Attorney's Office, is no stranger to this reality. Mr. Delaney has more than 35 years of experience as a prosecutor, and will share effective tools and techniques to help overcome victim/witness intimidation challenges.

Virginia Center for Policing Innovation

Urban Institute

The Urban Institute’s Justice Policy Center staff members conduct research and evaluations and provide technical assistance to improve justice policy and practice at the national, state, and local levels. Urban researchers examine the development, implementation, and impact of policing, crime prevention, and gang disruption initiatives. The work includes a large breadth of topics ranging from risk assessment, community corrections and reentry, human trafficking, forensic science, courts and sentencing, to gun violence.
