This agency has primary responsibility for training rural defenders, both staff and and contract attorneys in Nevada. Planning is underway for a 1.5 day conference in Elko NV June 6 & 7 2024.
On Sept. 2023, we received an application from the Ada County, Idaho PD office. they request subject matter expert assistance in implementing a training curriculum that will focus on attorneys with various levels of experience.
July-December 2023: On October 12, we received an applilcation seeking On-Demand TTA services. Specifically, they request subject matter expert assistance in designing and implementing a training curriculum for this newly created defense college. BJA has approved this application.
The culture change assessment tool is currently still being developed.
The PRC is in the initial stages of developing the companion guide which will be part of a comprehensive assessment package that will be provided to facilities. The companion guide is in its initial development. An outline of the topical area has been drafted as well as the introduction. The PRC is awaiting feedback from Westat to be able to further develop the guide.
The PRC drafted a pre-test and piloting approach for the anticipated development of the sexual safety assessment tool. The drafted approach includes the purpose, methods, data collection, analysis, survey recruitment, survey administration and collection, data entry, and next steps for the pre-testing and pilot testing phases.
During this reporting period, TLPI continued to track technical assistance data and training performance measures. Technical Assistance Request Forms are utilized to track new TA requests, Intake Forms are utilized to gather and track Wellness Court basic information and current programmatic needs. Training and technical assistance requests and fulfillment, along with addition of follow up information, is entered into TLPI's database, Civicore, so that training and technical assistance is documented.
As described previously, IIR employed risk assessments to identify potential “at-risk” subaward recipients. By the end of this reporting period, all 52 subrecipients had completed the risk assessment process and were assigned risk levels as follows: 13—high, 4—moderate, and 35—low (accounting for the removal of the risk level data for the three agencies that had not accepted their awards).
During this reporting period, 3 post-implementation evaluations were received, making 32 total evaluations received to date. Summaries from the evaluations are highlighted within each quarterly report.
NAICJA staff attorney Mary Rodriguez attended the NCAI hosted virtual meetings monthly for Inter Tribal Working Group- Judges.
