Corrections staff are exposed, directly and indirectly, to incidents involving violence, injury and death while performing their job. Direct exposure to these events, as well as repetitive indirect exposure, can have cumulative and deleterious effects upon the health and functioning of corrections workers.

Overview: COVID-19 has impacted many aspects of society, but one crucial and neglected aspect of managing the crisis of COVID-19 is in correctional facilities. A large number of justice-involved individuals reside in these correctional facilities, and it can be difficult to enforce social distancing and other mitigation efforts in this congregate setting. This workshop will inform and provide COVID-19 vaccine education for health professionals and justice-involved individuals to increase awareness and decrease spread of COVID-19 within correctional facilities and the community.

· How to determine if a new or remodeled facility meets performance expectations
· How wellness programs impact daily operations and your long-term results.

In today's workforce, five different generations work together to accomplish shared goals, perhaps for the first time in history. Different behaviors and outlooks among groups of employees born at distinct times requires unique approaches in human resource management. Corrections administrators need to understand that there are nuances and differences among generations, including in perceptions of staff wellness. Generational groups have different sets of experiences, interactions, and events that help shape their identities.

The Center hosted a third advisory board meeting to discuss the creation of the pilot studies. At this advisory board meeting, each peer reviewer presented on their respective topic and discussed how each proposal would delve into research areas and relate the topics to adult drug court outcomes. Upon incorporating some of the feedback from the advisory committee, all five peer reviewers finalized their respective proposals and presented them to policy advisors from BJA in hopes that BJA will fund further research on at least two of the five proposals.

Opened to children, stepchildren, and siblings, ages 18-25, whose firefighter has been honored or is approved to be honored at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial. When going through life changes, leaving home, entering the workforce, or getting married, these events can intensify the feelings of grief. The Young Adults Retreat will provide a safe place where young adults can connect with peers and find support with those who truly understand.

This event is open to adult men ages 18+ in the Fire Hero Family community (husbands/male life partners, fathers/stepfathers, sons/stepsons, brothers/stepbrothers) whose firefighter has been honored or is approved to be honored at the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial. For many men sadness can be a difficult emotion to navigate and emotional processing occurs differently in men than women. Men feel they must handle their emotions alone or they will show signs of weakness. Instead of emotional expression, men benefit greatly from doing things.
