The Center hosted a third advisory board meeting to discuss the creation of the pilot studies. At this advisory board meeting, each peer reviewer presented on their respective topic and discussed how each proposal would delve into research areas and relate the topics to adult drug court outcomes. Upon incorporating some of the feedback from the advisory committee, all five peer reviewers finalized their respective proposals and presented them to policy advisors from BJA in hopes that BJA will fund further research on at least two of the five proposals. Center staff also continued to work toward writing and publishing a literature review of the current landscape of drug court research and its historical underpinnings.
The proposals are on the folowing themes: Racial and ethnic disparities in drug court outcomes; Harm reduction concepts in adult treatment courts; Jail Sanctions in adult treatment courts; and Risks, needs, treatment quality and service matching.
