The Tiffin, Ohio Police Department (PD) requested training on the topic of use of force. This request was transferred to a new contract.
Marion, Iowa Police Department requested training for its new governance board regarding a complete overview of 9-1-1 Center public safety answering point operations, liabilities, trends, protocols, and other related areas. BJA NTTAC referred this request to the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services for fulfillment through the Collaborative Reform Initiative Technical Assistance Center.
BJA requested Proactive Police training for the SRO's in Center Point, Alabama. BJA NTTAC conducted follow-up with Center Point and the request evolved to an SRO training for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. This request was closed and a new request was created.
The Toledo, Ohio Police Department (PD), as part of the Toledo National Public Safety Partnership (PSP) site, requested a crime analysis assessment. CRH Crime Analysis Consulting was selected to fulfill the request and conducted an assessment between April 2019 and August 2019. CRH Crime Analysis Consulting delivered a finds and recommendations report to Toledo PD in August 2019.
The Akron, Ohio Police Department (PD) requested that a subject matter expert examine its process for targeting gun violence and to visit with a law enforcement agency facing similar issues with gun violence that has seen some success in the reduction of gun violence. BJA NTTAC provided funding support for Michael Medaris to travel to Akron PD to provide technical assistance in identifying current strengths and areas for improvement in gun violence strategies.
The Santa Maria, California Police Department (PD) requested a crime analysis assessment. OnPoint Analytics was selected to fulfill the request and conducted an assessment between October 2018 and May 2019. OnPoint Analytics delivered a final recommendations report to Santa Maria PD in May 2019.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office requested assistance in training their deputies and correction officers to identify persons with a mental disorder, appropriately and safely respond to individuals with mental disorders, to educate them in crisis de-escalation techniques and also inform them about resources that are available in the community for individuals with a mental disorder. BJA NTTAC Denied this request.
BJA requested Joan Brody to conduct a strategic grants assessment for the Anniston Police Department.
BJA NTTAC provided funding support for one representative to complete the “Fundamentals of Crime Analysis” course between
October and December 2018.
