The NRRC conducted a site visit to The RIDGE Project and observed a pre-release fatherhood class, met with corrections staff to discuss the relationship between the facility and the grantee, and met with grantee staff to discuss strategies for sustainability and boosting post-release support for program participants.
The Birmingham DRC began operating in December 2015. Due to various logistical concerns, there were delays in getting the center fully up and running. The DRC hosted an open house on Monday, March 21 and invited stakeholders and partner agencies to attend a presentation on the DRC, reentry, and a tour of the facility. After the tour, NRRC staff met with Lillian Callins, the GED instructor and later with Jeremy Ledlow (District Manager), Jo Wood (Chief Fiscal Officer), and Benita Daugharty (Project Director) to discuss implementation challenges, sustainability, and replication.
CSG Justice Center staff visited Old Pueblo's (OPCS) Adult Reentry mentoring program serving male and female state prisoners releasing to Pima County and residing in one of OPCS's transitional housing facilities. Site visit included one day of meeting key program staff and touring facilities, including the OPCS headquarters and many of their scattered site transitional housing facilities. These facilities include ones specific to women and veterans.

Panel presentation hosted by BJA with a focus on PREA and medicaid as they relate to community corrections. A presentation was made regarding PREA that discussed the audit, auditors, and implementation resources.
Attended a meeting at BJA offices to discuss technical assistance strategy for current (FY14) SRR implementation grantees and upcoming (FY15) SRR planning grantees. Additionally received clarification about evaluation expectations, and discussed upcoming SRR products and events (introductory webinar, SRR Summit in March, and brochure on systems-level change). BJA participants were Ruby Qazilbash and Andre Bethea.
