The NDCRC is conducting an evaluation of the implementation, breadth, and use of prescription drug monitoring programs (PDMP) at the state level. These data will be analyzed in conjunction with opioid prescribing rates, comparing rates alongside data from states that do and no not have PDMPs. We hypothesize that the implementation of PDMPs will correlate with a decrease in opioid prescribing rates.

The NDCRC began conducting a study in 2020 on how treatment courts are portrayed in media. The study tracks mentions of "treatment court" and "drug court" terms in written news media and will catalog and codify the discourse to gauge perception of treatment courts. A first batch of data were collected in November and December of 2020; a second batch of data are being collected in January 2022.

The Justice Clearing House (JCH) invited NRTAC to deliver a webinar featuring a panel of academics and policing experts discussing innovative tools and strategies for reducing gun violence in the United States. Specifically, crime gun intelligence centers and training assistance provided by NRTAC were highlighted, along with Mark Kraft discussing firearms trafficking trends, Kerry Yerico detailing intelligence analysis techniques, and Natalie Hipple, PhD. discussing current gun violence-related research and trends.

These questions were received primarily via the NDCRC email, individual staff emails, and the contact page of the NDCRC website. Between July 1 and December 31, 2021, staff addressed via email approximately 2,000 questions about the NDCRC, treatment courts, or other resources.
