NDCRC staff fielded inquiries related to research and practice in the field as well as NDCRC updates. These questions were received primarily via the NDCRC email, individual staff emails, and the contact page of the NDCRC website. Between January 1 and June 30, 2022, staff addressed via email approximately 2,000 questions about the NDCRC, treatment courts, or other resources.
The PREA Business Essentials Part III: The PREA Audit Contract is a course designed by the Auditor Continuing Education Division for auditors that will provide detailed overview of 1) the legal requirements of a contract; 2) the required elements of a contractual document for a PREA audit; and 3) best practices for contracting for a PREA audit.
The PREA Business Essentials Part II: How to Find Audit Work is a course designed by the Auditor Continuing Education Division for auditors that will provide detailed overview of 1) the most common avenues to secure PREA audit work; 2) recommendations for how to review and analyze a request for proposal for audit work; and 3) recommendations for how to effectively prepare a response to a RFP for audit work.
The PREA Business Essentials Part I: How To Create Your Auditing Business is a course designed by the Auditor Continuing Education Division for auditors that will provide detailed overview of 1) legal business structures that are available to form an audit business including tax and legal liability considerations; 2) how to organize an audit business including insurance considerations and management structures; and 3) tips and recommendations for opening an audit business including marketing and business promotion considerations.
The Fall 2021 Auditor Refresher webinar was a mandatory training for all certified auditors that was held virtually on October 12, 2021.
The 2022 Auditor Virtual Convening Event brings together PREA certified auditors and auditor trainees both in person and virtually for a convening event to discuss the past 10 years of PREA implementation and the future of PREA. The event is being held on Saturday, August 6 at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in conjunction with the ACA 152nd Congress of Correction Conference. Due to Covid precautions to allow social distancing, the PRC will host two identical sessions with in-person attendance limited to 35 auditors in each session.
