A few members from NCJA's Board of Directors mentioned to NCJA's Center for Justice Planning that one challenge SAAs consistently encounter is how best to relay who the SAA is, what they do, and ultimately, the story of the SAA. They requested TTA help for this issue. NCJA staff created a committee composed of four interested board members. The committee elected to create a survey to determine whether all SAAs have similar communications related needs.

NDCRC co-directors Dr. Christina Lanier and Dr. Kristen DeVall reached out to state associations during spring 2022 to introduce the NDCRC. The California Association of Collaborative Courts (CACC) was very interested in the California state report distributed to the state coordinators as a result of their Painting the Current Picture survey response. On June 2, 2022, with the permission of state coordinators, Dr. Lanier and Dr. DeVall presented these findings to the CACC Racial Justice Equity and Inclusion Workgroup.
