Blue Courage enhances the law enforcement professional’s capacity to serve with courage, respect, resilience, and commitment to the nobility of the profession. The Blue Courage 2-day course is nationally certified by IADLEST. This course was in preparation for a Blue Courage Train-the-Trainer later in the Spring.
This course is designed for multiple agencies to attend, to bring Blue Courage to departments around the US that can’t financially support a full class on their own. All steps leading to the immersion of Blue Courage in all Academies in the United States. This is a 4-day certification course that trains participants to effectively teach Blue Courage to their organizations.
As part of the Immersion process for New York, as stated in the MOU, this is the second of technical assisted classes supported by IADLEST. The 2 day Blue Courage course will be taught by the newly certified trainers in New York and assisted by a Blue Courage Master Trainer.
The Lansing MI Police Dept. is requesting training for their officers/dispatchers and some other civilian staff/department heads. The two 2-day Blue Courage Courses are intended to train and educate the command staff of the department. Blue Courage is a synergistic blend of education, principles, practices, skills, and tools that go beyond the classroom environment to foster a culture of leadership, character, nobility and service. Blue Courage focuses on both training to develop officer safety skills and education to enhance mindfulness and deepen awareness, intention and self-control.
The Executive Overview is the first step in the immersion process. The intent of the overview is to introduce, garner interest, and gain support for the Blue Courage training scheduled to come to Nebraska. Through this keynote presentation, participants experience a condensed version of our 2 day Academy addressing a variety of real world, applicable, and cutting edge learning that will enhance personal and organizational performance. Topics addressed include resiliency, respect, culture, pattern interruption, and the Nobility of policing.

Preventing violence is a paramount goal for probation and parole professionals, and it is important to keep current on new developments in this area. This program examines effective approaches to reducing violence through community supervision. Attendees were briefed on various programs that have produced a reduction in violence and recidivism among those being supervised. The presenter will go over issues pertaining to police/probation partnerships and the characteristics of successful programs, culminating in the identification of four key steps for developing effective partnerships.
In collaboration with the FBI, a task team was established in August 2016, focused on the development of a resource that provides guidance and recommendations regarding state and local law enforcement’s response, investigation, and sharing of information about officer-involved deadly use-of-force incidents.
