Join the APA for a Webinar on Prosecutorial Diversion Initiatives Involving Behavioral Health

Join the Association of Prosecuting Attorneys (APA) for their July Final Friday webinar, “Getting Diversion Right: Linking Treatments and Prosecutors” on Friday, July 28 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET. This webinar will review prosecutorial diversion, specifically diversion initiatives involving behavioral health. These initiatives involve the intersection of the legal system and the treatment system – two systems that have different purposes and missions, as well as a sporadic and limited history of working together. The webinar will present several considerations for successfully getting the two systems to work together, such as asking the right “first question” to identifying the right problem/challenge statement and working within both the right behavioral health capacity and the right prosecutorial risk tolerance.

In addition, the remaining webinar time will cover prosecutorial linkages to the newly emerging field of police pre-arrest diversion, including how prosecutors can play a critical role as partners to police, treatment providers, and the community.
