The Vera Institute of Justice will livestream the event “Prisoner Reentry as a Social Institution and Making Up of the ‘Ex-Offender’” on Thursday, January 26 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. ET. During the event, attendees will learn how U.S. crime control policies have produced a new form of citizenship for the criminalized poor, changing the nature of American public and private life and transforming the shape of American democracy.
The presenter for the event is the University of Michigan’s Reuben Jonathan Miller, an assistant professor in the School of Social Work, faculty affiliate in the Department of Afroamerican and African Studies, and faculty associate in the Population Studies Center.
This event will be held in-person in New York, New York; however, it is filled to capacity, so it will be livestreamed via WebEx.
