Attending the Violence Reduction Network (VRN) Summit in Detroit, MI? The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) National Training and Technical Assistance Center (NTTAC) invites you to visit our booth from Monday, September 28 through Wednesday, September 30 to learn about the free justice-related training and technical assistance (TTA) we offer to the law enforcement community.
Law enforcement services offered through BJA NTTAC include supporting organizational problem-solving assessments and intervention services for police agencies, providing a framework for collaborative problem-solving, and facilitating technical assistance to help prevent violence against officers. At the BJA NTTAC exhibit booth, you can also find resources to assist your agency in adopting a body-worn camera program, implementing a naloxone program, and enhancing your crime analysis capabilities.
The VRN is a comprehensive program created to leverage existing Department of Justice (DOJ) resources to deliver strategic, intensive TTA in an “all-hands” approach to reduce violence in some of the country’s most violent cities. The five VRN cities that received TTA this past year were Camden, NJ; Chicago, IL; Detroit, MI; Oakland/Richmond, CA; and Wilmington, DE. On Monday, September 28, DOJ announced that the following five cities will be added to the VRN:
- Compton, CA
- Flint, MI
- Little Rock, AR
- Newark, NJ
- West Memphis, AR
