This National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) webinar will discuss various crime prevention and crime analysis strategies that have been and still are being used in crime prevention. Participants will be introduced to crime analysis as a means of predictive policing and also as a resourceful tool for the people of the community in identifying and addressing known crimes in targeted areas.
Ms. Ashley L. Ranieri is the speaker for the webinar. She was born and raised in mid-Hudson Valley, New York,She has developed a passion for working as an advocate for a safer community through community involvement and development, in connection with the fundamentals of crime analysis and use of crime mapping. She has worked as a part-time assistant crime analyst for the City of Kingston Police Department over the past 3 1/2 years. Ms. Ranieri also is employed as a full-time paralegal for Klein Varble & Associates, P.C. She attended Dutchess Community College and Marist College where her studies focused on law and law enforcement. At Marist College, Ms. Ranieri’s studied Criminal Justice with specific focuses on statistics, research methods in criminal justice, cross culture, juvenile justice and criminology. She has attended trainings and seminars sponsored by the Department of Criminal Justice Services, National Business Institute, and is a member of the International Association for Crime Analysts.
