Join the National Center on Law & Elder Rights (NCLER) for the webinar “Tools for Addressing Elder Financial Exploitation in Rural Areas” on Tuesday, October 9 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. ET. During this webinar, participants will learn about strategies and tools for identifying and addressing elder abuse, with a specific focus on elder financial exploitation in rural areas.
Challenges related to elder abuse are often heightened for older adults who are geographically or situationally isolated. However, civil legal aid attorneys are uniquely positioned to help older adults who have experienced financial exploitation. This webinar will describe strategies and available resources to assist civil legal aid attorneys in expanding the reach of their services, as well as discuss a case study of a statewide model from Maine.
Webinar presenters will include:
- Sarah Galvan, Staff Attorney, Justice in Aging and NCLER; and
- Judith Shaw, Securities Administrator, State of Maine Office of Securities.
