Learn about Research and Policy Issues Related to the Use of Body-worn Cameras

Join the Justice Clearinghouse for the webinar “The Latest Research and Policy Issues Surrounding the Use of Body-Worn Cameras in Law Enforcement” on Tuesday, August 7 from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. ET. This webinar will review several studies that examine both the positive outcomes and the challenging issues related to the use of body-worn cameras in law enforcement. Positive outcomes can include enhanced prosecution results and reductions in use of force and citizen complaints, while challenges include activation, citizen notification, and both officer and supervisor authority to review footage.

Dr. Michael White, Professor and Director of the Doctoral Program at the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Arizona State University (ASU), will present this webinar. Dr. White is also the associate director of ASU’s Center for Violence Prevention and Community Safety and the co-director of training and technical assistance for the Bureau of Justice Assistance’s Body-Worn Camera Policy and Implementation Program.
