Join the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) for the webinar “Peer Recovery Support Services – Options, Opportunities, and Challenges for Jurisdictions” on Tuesday, February 27 from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. ET. During the webinar, the BJA Comprehensive Opioid Abuse Program (COAP) team will outline how jurisdictions nationwide are using peer recovery support services to address the opioid epidemic. In addition to defining peer support, its principles, and the range of services, webinar presenters will share their experiences, lessons learned, and ideas for implementing peer programs. Participants will also learn about available training and technical assistance (TTA).
The presenter for this webinar will be Elizabeth Burden from the Altarum Institute, representing the BJA COAP TTA Collaborative. Special guests will include:
- Rich Jones, Executive Director, Faces and Voices of Recovery;
- Jessica DeVrees, Executive Director, Consumer Voices are Born; and
- Owen Dougherty, Deputy Executive Director, Georgia Council on Substance Abuse.
BJA COAP is a collaborative effort to provide assistance and a repository of information to states, local jurisdictions, and tribal territories to address the opioid epidemic. BJA COAP TTA providers include Advocates for Human Potential, Inc.; the Altarum Institute; the Institute for Intergovernmental Research; and the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program Training and Technical Assistance Center at Brandeis University.
